Why Andy’s Man Club?

I am honored to serve as the Lead Facilitator for Berkshire’s first AMC group. With over 240 AMC groups across the UK—and growing—these communities rely on the dedication of volunteers and generous donations from fundraising and individuals to keep AMC’s doors open every Monday night (except on bank holidays).

Sadly suicide is the biggest killer of men under the age of 54 in the UK. Over 4500 men take their lives own lives every year, that’s 12 men every day… one man every 2 hours.

Our mission is to support #THATONEMAN who is facing challenges. While AMC is primarily a suicide prevention charity, it also provides a safe space where men can openly talk and relieve their burdens each week—something many describe as their “weekly reset.” In doing so, we indirectly offer support to their friends, families, and colleagues. Survivors of suicide often carry complex emotional scars that last a lifetime.

AMC is FREE TO ATTEND, has NO WAITING LIST, and DOESN’T REQUIRE WEEKLY PARTICIPATION.

BERKS BEANS is an opportunity to prioritise the use of my time and challenge the stigma surrounding suicide, and provide vital support to those in need. This initiative allows me to give back to my community while raising awareness for suicide prevention and mental health.

By donating a portion of the proceeds, BERKS BEANS helps sustain the charity’s vital services, ensuring they remain available through the efforts of local volunteers. Together, we are making a meaningful difference in the lives of those who need it most.

One of the most appreciated pieces of feedback we receive is that many men feel a sense of relief knowing that help is available when they need it most.
